I am in such a good mood today!

The tall guy went to a 'weeding' over the weekend and he finally got back home! YEA!! I asked him what is a 'weeding' and he said it's where two people who care for each other a whole lot stand up in front of all their friends and say nice things about each other and then go and have a party! I told him that I didn't need a 'weeding' to let people know how much I love him! I must have upset him, because he did that water thing with his eyes that peoples do.

PS. He also asked me to tell you that BLOGGER is messed up and isn't doing the automatic updates like it is supposed to. So he will check when he gets up in the morning and make sure that my website has been updated. I'll have to make sure he starts getting up early!

What's Mine is Mine...

and what's yours is mine too!

The tall guy says I have a tendency to 'borrow' toys from the other puppies at the puppy park. I tell him that I'm just trying to make sure that they don't tear them up. He says that's quite ironic since I'm the one who usually ends up chewing off pieces of whatever I happen to have my hands er... paws on at the time. I told him that HE'S ironic, well, just because. (If anyone knows what 'ironic' means, please let me know!)

And anyway, I have to take the toys to the water dish to make sure they are clean when the other puppies are ready to play with them. The tall guys says that's not ironic, that's just a compelsion!

seem to be...

I think I am happiest when...

• The tall guy comes home (sometimes he's gone for like 2 whole minutes!)
• I get to play with the other puppies
• I get to ride in the car
• I get to play in the water
• I get to eat whatever the tall guy is eating
• Laying in the grass in the shade
• I get to dig a hole
• I get to meet someone new when I hear the bells.

Let's just face it - I guess I'm just happiest all the time!

102 Little Circles!

You can tell it got hot here this week because all of the puppies tend to stick out their tongues to stay cool. I wonder if your tongue gets longer the hotter it gets. If that's the case, I know some short puppies who will be tripping over their tongues due to the heat!

It's not too bad for me, because 1) even though the tall guy thinks I do, I don't really have a lot of hair, and 2) the tall guy says he's going to stay cool even if he has to sit on an ice cube (and I tend to stick pretty close to him). However, some of the other puppies have an awful lot of hair! I hope their peoples make sure they stay cool as well! So, here's some pictures of puppies and their tongue-ometers...

And as a special bonus, here's a picture of Gabby taken by her dad after she was de-fuzzed so she could stay cool. She is a really pretty puppy - really!

You see what I have to put up with!

I keep telling you that all the little guys at the puppy park seem to think I am some type of toy they can just grab hold and chew on. Well, now I've got proof!

This little guy decided he was going to show me who was the boss. So, first he tries to climb up on my back. Then he grabs hold of my ear. Then he decides that I should carry him around for a while.

SO, being the nice, kind puppy that I am, I let him pull and tug for a while. I even rolled over so that he would think he was being the alfalfa male. He thought he was king of the castle!

It was THEN I decided to push him in the hole and cover him up with dirt! :)

So, next time you're at the puppy park and you see a puppy stuck in a hole, ask yourself what he did to deserve to be there. The answer may surprise you!

PS. No puppies were put in the hole during the making of these pictures! I made sure the tall guy turned off the camera WAY before I put him in there! (JUST KIDDING!)

Does this blog make my nose look big?

I never know when the tall guy is going to take my picture. For some reason, he decided that he needed to get up close and personal with my nose for this picture. I was just trying to take a nap (it had been a long 2 hours since I woke up!) and all of a sudden, I see the tall guy sticking a camera up my nose! I wasn't exactly in the mood to smile so I just gave him a look. For some reason, the look didn't work and he took more up-my-nose pictures. Hopefully, he got that out of his system! (But don't tell him I was sleeping on his new quilt!)

You have GOT to be kidding me!

Yes, that's me - all squashed on the ground like a McDonald's hamburger at a vegan picnic!

Did you ever have a cow sit on you? Well, let me tell you, it is NOT a pretty sight! I was playing with Zeus (the copper puppy) at the puppy park when BAM! - a ginormous cow comes over and decides he needs to get to know me a little better. Well, not so much a cow, but a humongous puppy (Jackson - 1 year, 2 months old). I don't think he realized he wasn't a little puppy any more. Needless to say, I asked him politely to get his enormous butt (and the rest of him) off of me! I told him next time he needed to squash someone, he should ask first! He was pretty nice though and we got to play for a little while, until he tried to knock me into tomorrow when we were running. It was then I decided that under the table was probably the best place for me to be until he lost like 600 pounds.

Sometimes you just gotta let it out. Find your inner puppy and sing like there's no one listening. Find a friend and sing to the high heavens! And then roll around in the mud.

Yes, I'm Wet.

I got a bit carried away at the puppy park this morning, so the tall guy took my picture on the way home. Needless to say, I was not happy that he took a picture before I had a chance to dry off! I had to wash my face because there was a puppy at the park who was chewing on me all morning. It's awfully hard to get puppy slobber cleaned off. The tall guy says that all the puppies like to chew on me so I must taste awfully good. I just think I taste like puppy.

June 20, 2009

Watching all my troubles, go swimming down the drain!

I will wash your puppy for you if you bring him or her to the puppy park. I am very good at making sure they get wet all over so that all the puppy park dirt disappears when you are ready to take them home in your car or boat. I only charge 2 cookies for each puppy (3 cookies if you're really big!)

However, I am not responsible if they go rolling around in the dirt or mud after they get the Jack-Spa treatment. Unless, you request the Jack-Spa mud treatment and massage! Then we can ALL get dirty.

Won't You Come and Play With Me?

If you come to my house, we can play with the red ball and the soccer ball and the cloth frisbee and all the other toys that are in my 'toy box' (the tall guy says it is where I was supposed to sleep - but you know how that worked out). I can get the tall guy to put some water in the pool and we can play in that as well. If it's not too hot, we can play in the yard and have the tall guy chase us around and not be able to catch us. (I like that game - the tall guy, not so much!) If he's not looking, we can even eat a flower or two.

Then after we have played for a long time, we can go into the house and I can show you where I sleep (on the couch, and on the big bed) and we can take a nap until the tall guy gets our food ready. Then, after we eat, I'll show you how to go sit beside him and look at him until he gives us some of his food - his food is pretty good.
Maybe he'll even take us to the puppy park and we can play there too!

But don't come on a Wednesday night - that is ear cleaning night - unless you want the tall guy to clean your ears. He is very gentle and does a really good job!

June 18, 2009

Well, your honor, it was like this...

I keep telling the tall guy we should go on The People's Court! with Judge Marilyn Milian (the hottest judge on tv). I could sue him for keeping my new Frisbee on top of the refrigerator where I can't get it. I'm pretty sure that's against SOME law. He also keeps the cookies and the treats in the top kitchen cabinet where I can't reach them either. I'm beginning to see some sort of pattern here! I told him that WHEN I win, I would give him some dollars so he could buy some new shoestrings (I don't know how the ones he has got all chewed up - it might have been a squirrel).

And I have no idea why the guy in the picture above is sitting on the table like that! Evidently, his peoples have only taught his front half not to get up on the table. The back-half lesson must be next week.

As you may have noticed...

I do like to ride in the car. I think it started from the day the tall guy brought me home! He lets me have the whole back of the car to ride in. I like to look out the window and look for puppies who don't get to ride in the car. I'm pretty good about not sticking my head out the window, but sometimes I just have to!

The tall guy even cleaned out the car today for me. It only took him like 6 hours. He had to go to the doggy car wash because his vacumn cleaner wasn't powerful enough. Something about dog hair sticking all over the place. He must be letting other puppies ride around with him, because I still have all of my hair! So, if you see the tall guy riding around with another puppy in his car, would you let me know?

NOM NOM NOM NOM...

There's nothing better than water from a spigot! Unless it's water from a hose. Or water at the puppy park. It is the best tasting water in all the world. It even tastes better than Pepsi with ice in it (but don't tell the tall guy I said that - he loves Pepsi. He loves Pepsi so much I'm surprised my name isn't Pepsi.)

(Note from the tall guy: Jack has a lot of names - but Pepsi isn't one of them. Punkin-head, yes. Also, I really like the 8th advertisement shown at the Pepsi link. I think you should serve Pepsi at every wedding!)

Today is a Happy Puppy Day!

But then again, I think every day should be Happy Puppy Day!

You know what makes a happy puppy? Other than playing with your puppy 23 hours a day? TREATS! and COOKIES! And CHEETOS! Yes, indeedy-do!

The tall guy said he wanted me to share a website with you:
http://www.best-dog-treat-recipes.com/index.html
He said there were a lot of good things for puppies to eat on there. I looked but all I could see were pictures on the computer screen. Trust me, it is NOT GOOD to eat the computer screen!

June 14, 2009

Finally!

I finally learned how to pick up the Frisbee when it's on the ground (well most of the time!). I told the tall guy I would like to be able to catch it when he throws it. I can do it at home if I'm really close to him and he throws it to me, so I figure it's just a matter of time before I'll be able to run and catch the frisbee like some of the other puppies!

Some of you asked to see some more puppy pictures, so I asked the tall guy to put some on here so you could see all the beautiful puppies. The tall guy says it is hard to get a good picture of puppies with black hair, but he is working on it! So if any of you can give him any hints about taking pictures of dark-haired puppies out in the sun, he would appreciate it! I think the pictures look best when he is down on the ground at puppy-level, but he says then the puppies come over and try to eat him or the camera. I told him it was a small price to pay to get a good puppy picture. He told me he would try harder in the future!

(Sorry I don't know the names of the puppies, except the last guy - that is Armand - he is my friend - we play a LOT at the puppy park).

My New Puppy Friends

As you can probably tell, the tall guy likes to take me to the puppy park. He says it gives him a chance to get work done when we get home. I have no idea what he means, because when we don't go to the puppy park, I like to help him do his work at home. He also likes to take pictures of all the puppies at the puppy park. The peoples at the park like for him to take pictures of their puppies, but not all the puppies know how to stay still so they can get their picture took. The tall guys says thank goodness for digital cameras (he also said he has lots of pictures of puppy butts if anyone is interested!)

So here are some pictures he took at the puppy park today while I was playing. The young lady above is named Daisy. Her peoples said she had a friend who looked like me, but her friend was moving away. So, I told her peoples that I would be glad to play with her whenever we were at the park together. The tall guy said it was funny, because every time we stopped playing, we would both roll over on our backs with our legs up in the air.

Here is a cute puppy that was very happy to be at the puppy park.

This was a very nice chocolate lab who was trying to HYP-MO-TIZE the tall guy but I don't think it worked.

This was a very sweet girl who liked getting her butt rubbed by everyone! She just went from peoples to peoples and asked them very nicely to scratch her butt! And they did!

OMG! AYKM!! This was the biggest puppy I have ever seen in my entire life. He was like 80 feet tall - and that's like bigger than 100 puppies! The tall guy said he was a Great Dane. I told him he was so big, he must be the Greatest Dane there ever was!

These are just some of the puppies I get to play with at the dog park. If you would like to see more of the puppies, just let the tall guy know.

June 12, 2009

A bee stung my lip and it swoll up THIS BIG!

Not really - that is a FRISBEE (© Wham-O, 1957). The tall guy figured out that he should only buy me the CLOTH frisbee things, and not the plastic ones because I have a tendency to, well, chew up the plastic ones (as you can see from the picture). So, we took the plastic ones to the puppy park so that everyone could play with them. They were a big hit. I didn't even mind when we left them there, because I knew I still had mine at home.

Speaking of puppies, I have seen ALL kinds of puppies that I didn't even know about at the puppy park. One nice lady had something called a Klee Kai, which looked really tiny! Today, a lady brought in two Bouviers, but they weren't all hairy because they had just been shaved. I asked the tall guy if I needed to be shaved and he said from the amount of hair he has to keep sweeping up, my hair just seems to fall out naturally.

I will keep looking and let you know if I see any more unusual puppies at the puppy park.

June 10, 2009

On the verdant fields of the puppy park,
waiting for my next victim ... er... playmate!

(Does this grass make my butt look fat?)

At the puppy park, sometimes it's hard to tell which puppies want to play and which puppies don't want to play. I've found that if I just wait like this for a while, one of the puppies who wants to play will come running. Then I can go running toward him and we will meet in the middle, much like two steam engines crashing!

Unfortunately, two big dogs got into a fight at the puppy park today. The tall guy says I am very good about staying away when other dogs get into a fight. The way I look at it is that I am a lamington short of a CWA lunch! (Just ask your Australian shepherd friends, they'll be able to explain it!) It makes the peoples very sad when the dogs get into a fight, cause then one of them has to go home and won't get to play any more.

So, if you are at the puppy park, do not get into fights with the other puppies. If you see a mean puppy, go tell your peoples that they should tell them to not to snap their cap!

June 9, 2009

I think I used too much hairspray on my ears.

I was trying something a little different with my hair today - but I don't think it's working.

No, I'm kidding. This is me running. Just running. No reason. Sometimes you just got to get up and get off your cute butt and run like the wind. It's like there's a little voice inside of you going 'RUN HERE' and then you run and then the little voice says 'NO, RUN OVER HERE' and then you go over there and then the little voice says 'RUN BACK' and then you tell the little voice to shut up because you're tired of running.

I find that it helps if you run with your mouth open. That way you can eat all the bugs you catch without stopping. And believe you me, nothing says 'I love you' like a puppy with bug breath.

So next time your tall guy is trying to get some work done and he hasn't paid attention to you in like 8 seconds, just get up and run. Run all over the house. Run on the furniture. But make sure you run around where he is working. Oh, and it helps if you bark while you run. Bark A LOT. Especially if you're in the house. In a small room. About 4AM.

Jumping Through The FLAMING HOOP OF DEATH!!!

Here I am, jumping through the
FLAMING HOOP OF DEATH!!!

Well, it's not so much flaming and I can't quite make it through, and I don't imagine jumping through this would kill me, but anyway...
I just like saying
FLAMING HOOP OF DEATH!!!

The tall guy took me to another puppy park because there was too much mud (as in, "JACK, GET OUT OF THE ") at the other place. When we got there, there weren't any puppies there, but a bunch of puppies came before we left, so it was all good. Besides, it gave me some time to practice with the
FLAMING HOOP OF DEATH!!!
,
so if I ever needed to jump through one, I would know how. Then I can work my way up to the
EXTREME FLAMING HULA HOOPS OF DEATH!!!
(I don't make this stuff up people!)

So, if you don't see me at the usual puppy park, drop by the other one. I may be there. Who knows what death-defying stunts I may have learned by then. Oh, and one last thing:

FLAMING HOOP OF DEATH!!!

June 7, 2009

After a hard day of sleeping, sometimes I just don't feel like standing over a hot stove and fixing dinner for the gang. So, I do what any busy puppy would do - I head to McDonalds. There you can find lots of delicious drink cups that really take a chewing.

So next time you're feeling the heat, head to your local McDonald's and pick up a cup - or two. Your family will thank you and so will I!

Which reminds me - McDonald's used to give out puppy cookies at the drive-thru window and and now they don't give them out any more. I used to get all excited but now I get very sad when I don't get a cookie. I think it's a KROC! :)

June 6, 2009

WOW!

Here I am on the way back from the lake. You will notice that the tall guy made me wear my string because he said he didn't want me jumping off the rocks! This isn't even the TOP of the mountains - there is a whole lot of high left before you get to the top! If you look really hard, you can see my house in the background! I like going to the mountains and to the lake. If you come visit me, I'll tell the tall guy to take us all up to the mountains!

I found a flower right next to the rock and asked the tall guy to take a picture of it for me. It was growing on one of the sticky things that I'm not allowed to get near because I don't want to get stuck in my nose. It was really pretty. It was the only flower that I could see but I didn't try to eat it.

Water, water, everywhere...

We went back up to the water today. It was great. We even saw some duck babies, but they stayed near their mother. There were a LOT of people there throwing strings into the water. The tall guy said they were fishing. I don't like fishing because it means I don't get to play in the water as much as I did last time. The tall guy said I was very good and I didn't even bark when we were driving up to the water, so we get to go back again real soon!

(Note from the tall guy: Sorry about the bad focus at the end - I was trying to figure out how I was going to get out in the middle of the lake to get Jack back to dry land!)

How come I have to do all the cleaning?

It seems like every time I go to the puppy park all the toys are just covered in dirt! Dirt, dirt and more dirt. Even though I like dirt (and mud) as much as the next puppy, there just comes a time where a little more clean and a little less dust wouldn't hurt. So, I've taken it upon myself to be the designated toy washer at the puppy park. I pick up each of the toys and take them over to the water and wash them off. I'm surprised I don't have 'dish-pan paws'!

My Latest Trick!!

Sometimes when we go to the park, the tall guy is ready to leave before I am. So, I've learned a new trick all on my own. If I lie on my back, he doesn't have any way to pick me up. He tried rolling me over, but I just keep rolling until I'm on my back again. I find that if I get on my back, I can stay until the tall guy gets 'X-ASS-PURR-ATED'. (I don't want to know what would happen when he gets Y-ASSPURRATED and Z-ASSPURRATED!) That tells me it's finally time to get up and go wherever he's trying to go.

Have you learned any new tricks that I can use? I wish I could do tricks like Katie and Louie. They are amazing! They are learning how to do tricks so they can help peoples. Maybe if I keep watching their videos, I can learn how to help peoples too!

At the Puppy Park!

I would like for everyone to come visit me and we will go to the puppy park. Now I know some of you puppies live out in the country and you don't have puppy parks because you have lots of places to play right at your house. Well, some puppies (like me) live in the city and we go to the puppy park to play with the other puppies.

Here are some pictures of me and my friend Sunshine at the puppy park!
Sunshine has really pretty eyes - one of them is blue and one of them is brown. (I think she wears a contact in one eye because I haven't ever seen a dog with two different color eyes before!)

Sunshine's dad gets a little perturbed because he says we are always trying to play under his feet.

There are all sorts of toys at the puppy park for us to play with. Here we are playing 'Jack, that's not your toy.' The tall guy says that is one of my favorite games at the puppy park!

Now we are playing 'Carry the round blue thing from one end of the park to the other'. Sunshine is very good about sharing the toys. The tall guy likes this game because we always drop it really far away from him so he gets lots of exercise going to pick it up.

Sometimes we play tug-of-war. She is really strong! If you are ever in a tug-of-war contest at your company picnic, make sure you pick her to be on your side!

We are so good at tug-of-war that sometimes the other puppies come over to watch us play. I do hope there isn't any betting going on over who is going to win!

So now you see what fun you can have at the puppy park. Please tell your peoples to take you there if you have a puppy park in your town!
