I did not get into trouble* today..
(*well, much trouble)
.
We went back to the puppy park this morning and I got to play with all the puppies again. It is such fun. There should be a people park where all the peoples can go run and rassle and play! So, when we got home, I was a bit wound up. The tall guy was messing with his computing machine because he said his he-mail wasn't working. So while he was preoccupied, I thought I would get the remote and see if I could find something to watch on the teevees. I couldn't get the teevees to turn on, so I figured the remote was broken. I decided I would just take it outside and see if I could fix it.

WELL, wouldn't you know it, the tall guy doesn't like for anyone to mess with his teevees remote. Not even if they are trying to fix it. I had only chewed through a little bit of it before he realized that I was being awfully quiet. Somehow, he knows that if he can't hear me, I am probably doing something I shouldn't. Well, he came out and took the remote away from me. He also said several things that I don't think I'm allowed to say!

To make a long story short, luckily he's got another un-chewed remote that he can use. As for me, I got a lecture about not eating things that don't belong to me. Maybe one day he'll show me how to make the darn things work!

Guarding the Cow Egg!

Well, we got to go back to the puppy park today and I had a great time. There were a bunch of new puppies there that I got to run and play with. The tall guy brought one of the cow eggs and I got to run after it for a while. I then decided I should just sit down for a while and watch all the puppies play. So I found a nice patch of shade and just sniffed and watched the puppies and had a darn good time. BUT, I made sure to keep my cow egg close by, so none of the other puppies would try to take it home with them. Cause we all know how hard these cow eggs are to find!

August 29, 2009

I am not blogging today...

cause I am pooped!

The tall guy took me to the park this morning (not the puppy park, just the close by park) AFTER we had already had our morning 29 mile walk! (Well, it feels like 29 miles to me.) On our 29 mile walk, we went to the place with the squirty water and I got all misty (literally). That made me so happy, I had to run around for like 18 hours! (The tall guy even took off my string because there weren't any other peoples or puppies around.) FREEDOM!

Then we came home and he looked at his computer while I stared at him with my laser eyes (and accidentally scratched the leather chair a few dozen times) until he decided that maybe we DID need to go to the close-by park. Lo and behold! There wasn't anyone at that park either, SO, the tall guy said that since I was getting to be a big 1 year old boy, he could trust me for a little bit and he TOOK OFF MY STRING AGAIN! RUN FREEDOM RUN!!

The tall guy said that I am getting pretty good about not running too far away from him and LO AND BEHOLD (see above), we found not just 1, but 2 cow eggs (TG: baseballs). I have seen some puppies that can put like 3 or 4 of those fuzzy yellow balls in their mouth, but I can only carry one at a time, so the tall guy carried the other one. For some reason, he decided to throw his cow egg way far away, so after I looked at him like he was crazy (you should NEVER throw away a cow egg), I took off after it. Then I was in a dilemma! I couldn't get the one he threw while I was carrying mine, so I decided to drop mine and pick his up and take it back to him. Well wouldn't you know it, he decided to throw it away again! Being the good puppy that I am, I ran to get it YET AGAIN. After we did this about 3 or 4 times, I told him that if he wanted to throw it, he could just go get it, because I had mine, so there! He went and got his and I got mine and we took them both to the car. Now we have two cow eggs we can play with next time we go to the park (provided that SOMEONE doesn't decide to throw his away again!).

Now you can see why I'm not blogging today. I'm just too tired!

You may have noticed...

You may have noticed that I have not been to the puppy park in about a whole WEEK!!! I asked the tall guy why we couldn't go and he said it was because I had something called a 'radiator inspection'*. We went to the nice doctor and she listened to me breathe. She (the nice doctor) said that I shouldn't be around other puppies for a while. BUT, the tall guy said we could go again on Saturday, which I think is like pretty soon. The doctor gave him some pills for me to take. He puts them in cheese for me to eat. He thinks he's fooling me, but the way I see it, as long as he thinks I don't know there are pills in the cheese, I get to eat cheese twice a day!

* From the tall guy: Radiator Inspection = Respiratory Infection.
And Jack is feeling much better now - the 'cheesy pills' did the trick. I am REALLY looking forward to letting him go to the dog park on Saturday! :)

Uh...

Please ignore yesterday's post. It has come to my attention that there MAY be pictures which show me kinda sorta SLIGHTLY chewing up some of my new toys. I apologize to anyone who may have misinterpreted what I was saying as in ANYWAY implying that the tall guy was wrong about me chewing up my toys. It had been a long day and I was obviously tired and had possibly been under the influence of squirrel hypnosis!

We now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress...

I've been defamed!!

Just look at me! Look at how SWEET I am. Don't I have INNOCENT eyes? Evidently someone (TG TG TG ) has been spreading vicious rumors that I have a SLIGHT TENDENCY to chew up my toys as soon as I get them!

August 25, 2009

Are you not listening to my mind?*
*(Overheard at the park today from a 4 year old to his dad!
And they say puppies talk funny!)

Things I did on my birthday...

First the tall guy and I went to the park and
saw lots and lots of peoples with their puppies.
It was like the puppy dam had burst!
People had to wade through all the poodles :)

Then we went to the beagle store and I got my Birthday Breakfast Beagle.
(Oh, the tall guy says it's BAGEL, not BEAGLE.)

Then (FINALLY), I got to open my birthday presents!
Well, I wouldn't actually say OPEN as the tall guy did not wrap them.
I got some of my old favorites:
I got some NEW BOTTLES.
I loved my old bottles. They made lots of noise.
Needless to say, I haven't seen them in a long time!

Then I got a FUNK-A-DELIC chewy thingy.
(Boom-chic-a-wah-wah!)

Next I got some goodness wrapped up in a beautiful package.
WITH PAPER!!
(At least SOMEONE loves me enough to wrap my presents.
Note to tall guy: Please note how presents SHOULD be done!)
MMMMMMM... paper!

Then, we went to something called a Farmer's Market,
but I didn't see any farmers for sale.
Just a bunch of vegetables and homemade stuff
like you might find on a...
OH, now I get it.

There was a really neat fountain,
but the tall guy wouldn't let me get in.

I don't know what this is,
but the tall guy seemed to think it was neat.
I think those are rabbits.

So, after we walked around the Farmer's Market,
(no farmers for sale),
we got in the car and came back home.

And then I took a long nap.
All in all, a pretty great day!

Please let me know when is YOUR birthday!

A couple of notes from the tall guy:
Thank you again to everyone for helping me celebrate Jack's birthday.
Secondly,
If anyone knows of a toy that puppies can NOT CHEW THROUGH
in less than 10 minutes, please let me know.

Funk-a-delic chewy thing:
Less than 5 minutes
Tennis balls on a rope:
Rope - 2 minutes
Tennis ball - about 5 minutes
(anything with a hole in it is doomed from the start!)
The brown bottle -
That lasted a little longer because we were playing keep-away, but once he got the squeeky part out,
it was all over.

The only thing I've found Jack CAN'T chew through are the solid non-edible NYLABONES.
Any other NYLA is pretty much cannon fodder.
He got an early birthday present - a NYLA-FISH....
NYLA-FISH - 3 minutes.

Miniature tires that look like real tires and are supposedly made out of tires:
Maybe 6 minutes.

Fortunately, he has stopped EATING the pieces when he tears them apart, but tear them apart he does!

So, any non-chewable recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you!

Wow! What a GREAT birthday. And I didn't even know what a birthday was, but now I want to have one every week!

My birthday wish for YOU is that every day is as special as my birthday!

Thank you to everyone for making it so nice!

The tall guy took a lot of pictures and he said he would put them up tomorrow. But for today, he said he thought this video was funny.

I thought it was WONDERFUL. A very special thank you to Dory and Bilbo and their mom! It's not every day that the you get a bag full of paper to tear up! (And a bunch of cool toys at the bottom!!)

Twenty-five thousand pictures...
and not a good one in the bunch!

Here are some more pictures that the tall guy took at the puppy park. I told him he sure does take a lot of pictures. He said it was because I was so handsome that he had to keep taking pictures of me because no one would believe him when he told them how good looking I was. I don't think it's a lie if it's true! :)

This was a nice guy. He was very good about sharing his toys!

Here is the puppy I buried in the hole a while back. I see he's up to his old tricks!

This pretty lady is Maisy. She reminds me of my mom!

Not all the puppies at the puppy park are puppies! This was a really nice lady
who didn't even mind when I tried to give her a kiss! She tasted like puppy!

I don't see any puppies in this picture, but there must be some there somewhere. I asked the tall guy why he takes pictures that don't have any puppies in them and he says because the mountains are pretty. You can see these mountains from the puppy park. He said it was pretty hazy when he took this picture. I think there used to be a show called 'Hazy' on TV, with Shirley Booth, but I don't see her in the picture either!

My Summer Vacation
by Jack

What I did on my Summer vacation
For some reason, the tall guy decided that we needed to go stay at a 'hole-tel' last night
because the thing that makes the cold air in the house
was not working.
So, we got in the car and went to a place where the cold air
WAS working.

Unfortunately, the new place had so many smells and
so many new things to see,
I was just too excited and could not go to sleep.
So after a few hours (and about a thousand 'Jack, NO!'s),
we came back to our 'not quite so cool' house.
And that is what I did on my summer vacation.

And now,
A Few Word of Calm Reflection

Do you see the things on my nose?
I think it is grass but I'm not sure.
It may be bugs.
It's kinda hard for me to see.
(You try looking at the end of YOUR nose!)
And it all leads to this:
If I can walk around with possible bugs on my nose
and still keep smiling,
things can't be too bad!

So next time you're feeling sad,
go outside and put some bugs on YOUR nose.
And smile!

As they say in the South...
SUPPERTIME!!!

Hmmm, let's see what we have on today's buffet. Ah, here's some nice water. Tastes water-y! Ah, here's some more water. Uh, it's a bit watered down. And what else do we have? Why, it's some delicious water! MMMMM, water at the puppy park just seems to taste better for some reason. I don't know WHAT they do to it!

Note from the Tall Guy: Here's a neat website from Dogster: http://tinyurl.com/oqwb42

What Was THAT?

When we went to the park today, all of a sudden I saw a funny looking dog run across the field not too far from us. I wagged my tail like you're supposed to, but he just kept running. I told the tall guy that that sure was one very rude dog! The tall guy told me that it was NOT a dog, but that it was a KIOTE (except he said it was spelled coyote which doesn't make any sense whatsoever!). I said well that was the first time I had ever SEEN a KIOTE, but I hear them all the time at night. Evidently, they just sit at home at night watching scary movies and just scream and scream all the time. I think someone needs to cancel their Netflix accounts!

What's This Stuff?

I think it's called BUBBLE GUM.
But if you eat it, your lips get all puffy until they POP!
I don't think puppies like bubble gum
cause when it pops it gets all in your hair.
And there's nothing worse than a puppy with sticky blue hair!

SPECIAL 'INVISIBLE TO PUPPIES MESSAGE' FROM THE TALL GUY:
(This message is written in
font, so that a certain puppy won't be able to read the message.
To us peoples, it will look like normal text!)
A very special puppy (well, special to me!) is having his very first birthday next Sunday.
I would like to do something very special for my very special boy.
Other than paying $32000 to fly him to France,
I'm pretty open.
SO, if you have any great ideas, please let me know.
I will choose one of the suggestions at random
and make a donation to your local animal shelter
in your (or your puppy's or kitty's) name.

Our Story Continues....

Our hero, Vampire Jack, is ever on watch for EVILDOERS who
prey on the weak and innocent.

Today's Adventure:
Did YOU eat the puppy?

Jack:
There have been a lot of cute puppies missing lately.
I must look inside your head to see if you have eaten them!

Jackson:
Puppies? What puppies?
I ain't eat no puppies!

Jack:
A-HA and O-HO!
I think you have eaten all the puppies.
Now you must pay.

Jackson:
But I have no monies.

Jack:
Then I have no recourse but to turn you into a
VAMPIRE PUPPY
so that you will help me fight all the EVILDOERS!

Jackson:
Evil doors?

Jack:
EvilDOERS!! Not doors.

Jackson:
Oh.

Jack:
Nom, nom, nom.

Jackson:
O-HO and A-HA!
I have fooled you.
I am already an EVIL VAMPIRE CAT
dressed up like a puppy.
It is now YOU who must be eated!

Jack:
Wait! I need a break.
You can eat me later.
And your tongue is disgusting!

Tune in next time to see if Jack will be eated by the EVIL VAMPIRE CAT!
Same Vampire Time,
Same Vampire Channel!

From the tall guy to Helen:
Unfortunately this is the BEST picture of the bunch. Dirk is thinking that Jack has gone crazy (he's right!) and Jet would rather be somewhere else.

Jack's Brother and Sister (littermates):
Dirk and Jet
It can't be heredity, because THEY know how to behave! :)

There must be a bunch of hoses buried under the ground and some puppy has been chewing on them, because sometimes when we go to the park, all of a sudden, all this WATER comes up out of the ground! It's AMAZING!!

I try to catch the water so it won't get the grass all wet, but it is coming really fast. The tall guy tells me to be careful because I could get hurt when I try to catch the water, so I stay away from the metal sticks! The tall guy laughs at me when I run through the water and he doesn't even mind if I get all wet.

And then the water makes all these great puddles for me to play in! I like to dig in the mud just to see if there is more mud and, you know what? There almost always is!

I wish I could find the puppy who is chewing on the hoses at the park. So if you see a puppy chewing on the hose at your house, please tell him (or her) thank you very much! They may be the GREAT HOSE CHEWING PUPPY who goes around at night and chews up all the hoses so that all the good puppies can play in the water! And that is a very good puppy!

Blue Bottles are Bad!

I do not like the blue bottle. The blue bottle is mean to me. If it were up to me, all the blue bottles would be put up in the cabinet and not ever seen again! If you have a blue bottle at your house, hide it so your peoples can't find it.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE TALL GUY: Jack tends to exaggerate! The bottle has water in it and has only been used ONE TIME for his barking as I was instructed by the trainer at puppy school. And just like the police, I tried it on myself before I squirted him! It is very effective, as he does not like the bottle. However, he LOVES sprinklers.... but he can tell you about that tomorrow!

Every Picture Does NOT Tell a Story!

The tall guy said that I tend to ramble too much on here, so today I will just show you some pictures and tell you what I was thinking when the picture was taken!

I know you got cotton candy and you'd better give me some!

If he throws this thing one more time, HE can go get it!

Yes I did, but the wind is blowing so maybe no one will notice!

I think I left the curlers in TOO long!

See you tomorrow!

EWWWW - they're kissing!!

Kids now-a-days. What can I say? Actually we are NOT kissing - we are preparing for MANLY fighting! And doing MANLY rasslin'. And MANLY sniffing! And drinking MANLY water! And MANLY MAN-STUFF like that!

Actually, the brown lab's name is River and she's 8 months old. You may have seen her picture on here before. She came to the park near my house one time. She is training to be an assistant puppy or a puppy assistant or some kind of job where she helps people. I told her that is very kind of her. But I was still going to eat her nose! :)
