March 24, 2016

1970 here I come!

That's right.  Don't be jealous.
The tall guy got me my very own waterbed.
Cause I'm a hip, with-it, now, groovy kind of dog.

It's supposed to help me stay cool when it's hot.
He wasn't sure if I would like it,
but I like it a lot.

Which is good because he already opened the box
that it came in.

He put it on top of one of my dog beds so I could
be cool and soft at the same time.

And there's plenty of room, so if you come visit,
we can both sleep on my waterbed at the same time.
But you have to bring your own pillow.

  1. Sounds good Jack, aren't you worried one of your toenails might do damage? Is it cold in winter....or do you use blankets? We missed you.

  2. You are waaaay groovier than I am, Jack. I just sleep on the big bed.

  3. Dear Jack,

Wow, you're going to be the most comfortable puppy on the planet! Enjoy!!

PS I think the tall guy ought to serve you breakfast in bed - maybe some nice, fluffy pannycakes......

    Your friend,

  4. Oh wow, a water bed of your very own!!!!
Be careful when you scrabble though!
    Loves and licky kisses

Love from Petite-Chose and Inca xx
P.S. We have our very own pillows !!

  8. COOL JACK!!!
and on your nightstand... maybe some dramamine?
    you know...
in case you have one of those 'running' dreams and get a little sea sick! XOXOXO♥
    i've missed you!
i thought you might be on tour since you got famous in your last post!

  9. So, are you a 70's kind of dog Jack?

    Keep Calm & Bark On!

    Murphy & Stanley

  10. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Jack I'm on my way and I'll bring my nip pillow oh and just because I'm a thoughtful kitty, I'll be sure to put on softnail tips on my claws so I don't punture your bed...cause I don't know how to swim
    Hugs madi your bfffffff

  11. PS you loook most dashingly handsome on the bed too!!
    Hugs madi

  12. Jack, you are 1 very Lucky Dude! Tall Guy does right by you for sure.
I think your next item to request might be a lava lamp. That would be "neato" !
Enjoy Bro and have a grooooovey time!

  13. Oh, and you need a shag pile rug avocado green, or bright orange.

  14. Thats cool Jack and you will be nice and warm now. Welcome back to the 70's

I had to do what you did my dearest tall guy. but it's the right thing. the suffering is bad.
but now. there are no words. bless you.
you will have him in your heart forever.
and he's in ours as well.

  29. Dear TG
I came by to tell you here on Jack's blog what you and Jack meant to us. First of all I'm so sorry for the loss of your Jack.

In Jack's first book, you said you wanted to write about Jack THEN rather than Later and you were so wise!! Oh the memories you created for yourself and for everyone who love Jack and the voice you gave him. He was loved by the masses and will be missed so very much. One thing for sure, he was loved to the moon and back. Jack lived in the moment and every moment he lived was live with gusto.
Jack taught us new words like TG, which was purrfect, TVees, panny cakes. Most of all Jack taught us to love each other and to live in the here and now with no regrets. Thank you for sharing Jack with us, you were a wonderful and loving TG to Jack. Rem's mom said it best when she said...I can picture Remington and Jack romping and playing together. Every time I see the moon I think of Remington...every time I see a panny cake or hear beautiful music I think of you and Jack.
Take care of yourself and soon I hope the loss of Jack will be replaced by all the memories of things you did together.
Thank you for taking a trip over to the dark side of the pet store several years ago to buy Madi's Christmas exchange present from Jack. It was purrfect!!
Hugs now and furever Madi Jack's first and only feline friend and Cecilia

  30. Madi and Mom have said it all so eloquently. I can only add our heartfelt sorrow at learning the very sad news about Jack. We enjoyed his blog so much, and he will be missed by all his adoring fans. We know how you are feeling TG, and share your tears.
As an owner of five yellow Labs over the years I have enjoyed and laughed at your book, and blog, about Jack, and still read it on my Kindle. You gave voice to all those gorgeous Labs everywhere.
    Take care TG.
    Hugs from us too,
Coppa's girl and her two yellow Labs - Petite-Chose and Inca.

  31. My heart breaks to read the recent posts. To lose a pet is one of the hardest things in the world. Jack was a beautiful dog and you gave him a Wonderful Life. Take time for yourself TG ... but please get a puppy. (they help plug the hole with love and joy again.) Jack will never be forgotten. We all Loved him.

  32. We are so so sad to hear the news about Jack. He always made us laugh. He was a true philosopher King of the canine world. Your love for him came shining through in every post.

  33. We are so very sorry to hear about your beloved Jack. He will truly be missed. We're sending you lots of love as we know your heart is hurting.

    Lily Belle & Muffin

  34. I'm so sorry to hear about Jack. I enjoyed meeting him (and you!) in Tucson. Hugs, TG, and lots of love heading your way.

    Monty and Harlow

  35. TG - Mom Kim here. I am another late one with a note to let you know how sorry I am over your loss of Jack - he was such a handsome fella and I could read through your posts of just how much you cared for him and loved him. He was one lucky boy to have you and I know you will miss him greatly. I hope my Angel Shiloh was there to meet up with Jack.
    R.I.P. now, dear Jack.

  36. Jack, you look like you were a wonderful dude to have around and you will be greatly missed by many. I'm Christmas, and I'm a Dachshund running for da mayor of Blogville! Head over to my blog to check out my posts, and follow us too! And when the time comes, you can vote for me if you like in November! And did I mention I'm a show dog? Hope to see you at Paw Province!

  37. Oh TG, my heart is breaking! I've watched Jack over the years and so enjoyed his crazy love of life. You, friend, had to make the choice between what is right and what is easy. Right is when we let them go to end their suffering, when easy might have been to wait. It was a brave choice, and Brody and I thank you for sharing your lovely Jack with us! He is truly missed. Deepest sympathies.

  38. No words can say the sorrow I felt when I found out. Thank you TG and beloved Jack for the comfort and smiles you put upon my face. I was was lonely and scared when I moved to Arizona back in 2011, you two made me feel happy and excited about new adventures to come. I will treasure my Alpa-Pet book always. Thank you my friends. You are both deeply missed, and I will always and forever be grateful to you for sharing your precious Jack with us. The two of you touched so many lives and brought many smiles to a lot of faces. Jack's friend,

  42. Hi TG...looks like a lot of us are thinking of you and Jack.
We're in the midst of remodeling...I saw Jack's handsome face on my bookshelf on several books. I smiled and remembered all the fun we had with you and Jack. Thank you for sharing that sweet handsome boy with us. His passing was too soon but never forget the impact you two made on so many folks.
Just wanted you to know you are being thought of today
Happy Independence Day and Hugs from
    Madi and Cecilia

  43. We visit regularly, too, just to see Jack's handsome face once more. Happy memories looking back over the years from when he was a tiny pup. Neither of you will be forgotten here.

  44. just checking on you tall guy.
    we love you you know.
and seeing beloved jack's beautiful face here always.
I hope it's mild where you are. here the heat is in the triple digits. the A/C runs non stop now.
    autumn can't come soon enough.
hugs to you dear one. XOXO♥

  46. So very sad to discover that Jack is no more. This is Ruby's Mum from Sedona. It's been a very long time since I've visited. After Ruby passed in 2011, I didn't have much heart for reading the dog blogs any more. Every now and again I have checked back in with you and Jack, and was always uplifted by your posts. I know your heart must be heavy, as mine was for a long time. It has only been now, 5 years on, that I've been able to fully reread Ruby's blog, but I am so grateful to have it, as I'm sure you will be with Jack's. Sending a hug from Sedona, and the new boy, Rajah.

  47. Hi TG - Just happened to think of you tonight and decided to see if you were still blogging... your blog was always my favorite. I sure didn't anticipate this news though. I'm so very sorry that Jack has crossed the bridge. I know how much you loved him and I just wish I could give you a hug. Kathy (Tank's Two Cents)

  48. Dear Jack,

Remembering you with love on your birthday, and sending the tall guy lots of hugs as he goes through this day without you. Happy Birthday at the Rainbow Bridge, and thank you for being so special. You will never be forgotten.

    Your Friend,

  49. Jack, how could we ever forget you. Hope you are all celebrating at the Rainbow Bridge.
Thinking of you too, Tall Guy.

  50. thinking of you tall guy.
    you and jack.
you will always be right up there in my favorites bar.
    sending you a huge hug.

  51. Hi TG...just came by for my Jack fix....every time I read this post I'm reminded of what Jack was all about. Sharing and friends and happy. That is WHAT I remember about Jack and you!! I especially love the last line.
"And there's plenty of room, so if you come visit,
we can both sleep on my waterbed at the same time.
But you have to bring your own pillow"
    Hugs Madi and Cecilia

  52. it's autumn now tall guy.
at least on the calendar. though no leaves have turned yet where i am.
one day awhile back i started at the beginning of this blog and read every single post.
someday i wish you could let us know how you're doing.
you and jack had a way of getting into our hearts.

  53. I think we all keep looking here because Jack was such a wonderful dog.....and also in the hope that Tall Guy has another pup, just like Jack, and lots of new stories to tell us.

    1. Thank you for saying this; I though it was just us who came back hoping to see that there was a new pup to visit. Thinking of TG and Jack's memory.

  54. I miss this guy so much. Always came here for my daily smile. I hope you are doing better Tall Guy. Know that you are in all our hearts.

  57. Dear Tall Guy,

As Thanksgiving approaches, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for having had the blessing of you and Jack touching my life in so many ways; for all the smiles you brought to my face, all the times you lifted my spirits, and most especially for all the joy that you brought into the lives of all of us by sharing the life and times of precious Jack. I know the holidays without him will be very tough for you, but please be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we all continue to send you much love and gratitude. Thank you so much, Tall Guy - for everything.

    Jack's friend,
