What I Did On My Christmas Vacation
by Jack

We went to a place called Flagpole.*
It was cold and there was snow on the ground.
The tall guy said it was 19 little circles at night.
He knew that because I had to go outside
several times just to make sure it was still cold.
I made sure it was cold
at 12AM, 2AM and 3AM.

I even got to get up on the bed as the people in the hotel knew that I was there and they didn't even mind.

The cold weather must make things grow really big.
We saw a big cow!

 I was not in jail.
The hotel room we were in had something
called a balcony that I could go out
and say hello to all the people outside.

We even got to go to a dog park.
There were a lot of dogs there
even in the cold.
The dogs didn't seem to mind.

I even found a Fribsee** that someone
had left at the park.
I left it there when we left so the other
dogs could play with it too.

The tall guy said I was having so much fun,
he tried to make a movie.
It was getting dark, so it might be hard to see.
We were playing,
but the other dog got bored,
so I decided I would eat the stick.

I liked all the cold and the snow,
and calling and getting room service
at 5AM when the tall guy was asleep,***
so I hope we get to go back soon.
And that is what I did on my Christmas vacation.

The End

* TG: Flagstaff
**  TG:  See Jack's book for our discussion of the word "FRIBSEE".
***  Jack:  Don't tell the tall guy.  I've got like a month to get some money before his credit card bill comes.

MOL at the number of potty trips. My offer to litter box train you is still good!!

Your new friend might have a short attention span but that is ok since he was nice and friendly.

Was here steak on the room service menu?

  9. Hey Jack, thank you so much for making me look good. I spent last night in a hotel too - well a bed and breakfast to be more accurate - and slept peacefully through from 10 pm to 7 am.
    Happy New Year!

  19. You're looking mighty handsome out there in the snow. Maybe TG can get you a sled to pull. Just thought I'd let you know I enjoyed reading your book - bought it and finished it yesterday. You are a wonderful lab. My favorite part of the book was your spa. My yellow lab loved his too - although his "spa" was a blue wading pool that ended up with more water on the outside than inside after his digging and diving to catch the fish painted on its bottom.

  20. Jack and TG your comment today cracked us/mom up...she just had to write to tell you.....
Madi has been basking in her sunpuddles all day. However, when the sun goes down she gets rather _itchy about wanting one of us to move out of our dining room chair during supper. You know it is all about Madi. Her goal is to get all cozy on the seat pads (that we have warmed for her)!! YES...I do walk around with a white furry tush most days!! One of the perks of being owned by a Diva with a white belly.
    Hugs from your BFFF's Mom
