STRINGS!!

Yes, you noticed that I had to wear my string yesterday when I was at the water. Evidently, my new name when I am near water is 'HELEN WHEELS'. So, not only am I not allowed off the string, but I've had a sex change as well.

Seriously, this tends to cramp my style, as I can't go exploring more than 8 feet away from the tall guy. I get my revenge by trying to pull him into the water, which he does not seem to enjoy very much. Especially when I am running down the hill dragging him behind me. We do not have any pictures of that. Something about breaking his neck when I pull him and if I pull him in the water, I will not be a happy puppy.

See! I can't even get in the deep water when I'm wearing my string!

He said we would try to find some water that did not have people around so I could play without my string, but it was too crowded with people doing something called 'FISHING' when we were there.

Speaking of which, I need to ask you about this 'FISHING' stuff. We saw a LOT of people with sticks at the water. All of the sticks had strings on them. BUT, I guess all the puppies on the strings were under the water because I did not see any of them.

I looked for them under the water:
but I still did not see them. I would like to know how come all these peoples make their puppies go under the water while they are on their strings. And how do these puppies can stay under water for so long? I would like to play with some of the underwater puppies but I can not hold my breath that long (and the water gets in my nose).

So if you have any ideas about how I can find the underwater puppies, please let me know. And if you know how to keep the water from getting in my nose, I would like to know that too. But if you would like a picture of me running toward the water while the tall guy is trying to keep from sliding down the hill with my string in one hand and the camera in the other, well, that ain't gonna happen!

  2. Ha! Helen Wheels...love the new name, Jack.

What you saw (didn't see) attached to those strings were specific breeds of puppies that are bred so they can hold their breath longer. They're quite small, and just hang around under water making tiny wiggly movements so the fish are attracted--then when the fish get up close, the puppy (I think they're called English Fishdogs) will grab onto the fish's nose with an incredible grip (they are notorious for holding on to the death), then the Fishdog's owner will haul both of them out of the water and take the Fishdog's fish. If they are nice owners, they'll give the Fishdog a treat for a job well done.

I guess you didn't get to see any in action, it's quite the performance. Maybe you should get your TG to get an underwater camera so you can capture the drama.

I hope you get to swim with the fishes and Fishdogs next time!

  4. Wilf is amazed and horrified that you would wish to go within a hundred feet of water.

  5. IF you pulled the TG into the water... he says you won't be a happy puppy? I have a feeling you would be very happy, for a moment or two...

Not sure about these underwater pups though. Perhaps they are specialists and training with the SAS in underwater stealth, watch that deep water they might just GRAB you in their clutches and drag you down! And we don't want water in your schnoz!

  6. That happens here too. PeeWee needs his string when he goes swimming, but as soon as he sees water he is like super sled dog. I think Momma will be in the water sooner or later.

  7. Hmm...that is very curious business about the poles and strings. My male human does some of this "fishing" business. I think they are catching floppy wet things that smell REAL GOOD! Good enough to chew on, but I am not allowed to chew on it. Maybe next time you go you'll investigate a little more!

  8. Woof! Woof! SEX Change? n Helen. LOL!!! What I find out is that if you are a truly Water Dog - that means you enjoy water n able to swim you can stay under water. When I used to swim in the lake I used to dive down to get rocks - It was FUN but YAKS! I got major allergy on lake/pond/ocean water so for the meantime backyard water is my pool. 9. Oh me Jack and TG you have mom lol so hard she had to get a kleenx to her eyes and she said something about ruining something and it was your fault. Helen Wheels....TG/Jack how long does it take you to come up with these things?

So Jack has TG ever told you not to do something because you might bust your chin wide open? That is Mom's favorite saying....

Mom and I thank maybe the puppies on strings under the water are looking for the catfish in the water. Now what they will do with them if the find them is another story entirely,
    Regards
Madi and Mom and thank you for the LOL/MOL

Anyways, that would be sooo much fun to watch him go kerplunk and me all screaming and stuffs saying," Help me, help me....my dog drug me in and I can't get up!"

  13. Jack,

I has wondered about that whole fishing thing too. Maybe there are Porteguese Water Dogs at the end of the strings.

  18. Dear Helen... er Jack... er Jackel,

The underwater puppies have schnoorkleese or somethin. Don't bother with that. Set yer mind on gettin the TG down that hill, preferably on his bottom. When we do that to our mommy she says all kinds of HBO words then starts laughin.

You should definitely try that, yes!

  25. Water water! All good if the water's good :)
Mom's been eye-snaggled by the end of one of those strings Jack....so, yeah... don't let them fool you by thinking the ends might be more puppies to play with!! Sorry to say my friend :)
The waters without the strings...probably the better way to go!

    Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
