I did not do it!

And I was not even scared!!

Do you know what this is (er......WAS?)

That's right.
It WAS two glass shower doors.
But now it is not.

Oh don't worry. You know there is a story behind this.
It seems that the tall guy put these shower doors
in the garage when he had tile put in the shower.
Now he has a curtain,
(which is much easier for me to stick my
head in when he's in there so I can say hello).

So, the other night,
the smoke alarm in the bedroom went off.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!
(Like at 2AM)
Fortunately, it was just a bad battery.
The tall guy had to go get the really, really
tall ladder, because the ceiling in his bedroom
is way too high, even for him.
The shower doors were in front of the ladder.
He moved them and then changed the smoke alarm
so that it didn't
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!
while we were trying to sleep.

Well, the next day he went to put the ladder back,
and when he tried (note the verb there)
to put the shower doors back where they had been,
BOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!
(Not to be confused with
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP!!)
they exploded into like 80 bagazillion pieces.
I was in the house, so I only heard the glass break.
Fortunately, shower glass breaks into little bitty
pieces that is pretty non-cutty,
so he did not even get a scratch or cut.
I heard him say
'Oh well'
and then he had to spend like 6 years
cleaning up all the glass.

Well, what did all of that have to do with me?
You'll have to come back tomorrow to find out! :)

  1. Is there life after glass? There must be some use for all that broken glass..Maybe you could make a puzzle out of it! I hope this story has a good ending.
Thanks for your comment on my post today.

  2. oops !!

Lady sez you are a true hero. Nothing, and I mean nothing fazes Lady...except, chirping smoke detectors. She paces, cries, whines, paces some more then runs through her doggy door and hides outside. So, TG is her hero for the day (she understands how Jack could be upset). Congratulations.

  3. Jack - You'll just have to let him know that if you'd gone to the deli none of this would have happened.

  7. Jack, are you completely sure that the only thing the tall guy said was "oh, well"? Because I know I'd be saying something very very bad. Wow!

  8. Mom always wonders WHY those batteries always need to be replaced in the middle of the night??? Ours did that twice this month at 1:30 a.m. And all the batteries had already been replaced in April.

We can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

MOM LOL when she read about you sticking your head in the shower to say hi to TG....

Don't you just H A T E when those dang alarms go off in the middle of the night!!! Absolutely the worst. Once you get your heart back to a normal rhythm and turn the dang thing off you are wide awake.

  13. Here's a tip for TG--change all your smoke detector batteries every year on the same holiday. We do it on New Year's Day. That beeping is enough to make anyone break into 80 bagazillion pieces!

  17. Jack, Are you sure you heard TG correctly?
"Oh Well" would not have been my choice of words given the circumstances.
Maybe TG also stands for Tall Gentleman!

  18. You snooter doggie... I don't go near the shower when the water is running!

Can you help TG pick out new shower doors?

  24. Poor Tall Guy! Right after we had gotten Augie, I heard a loud >boom< from the back patio, and when I looked out, I saw the glass table had broken into a million gazillion tiny round balls. Oh my gosh, it took me hours and hours to clean up that glass, starting with a shovel and ending with a vacuum. I was so afraid the pup would find a piece of glass I had missed. (I'm sure you were fascinated by this riveting story, right? Hee hee)
