Thank You!

I want to say 'Thank you!' to all the people who wrote yesterday about my 'ergies'. You are very kind. And just in case, I will say 'Thank you!' to everyone who didn't write yesterday too. It never hurts to say 'Thank you!', unless you have a sore throat but then it hurts to say anything. But if that lady on Design Star can talk with a sore throat, I guess it's ok.

I do not have a sore throat - I don't even have any problems with my ears (the doctor said that is not uncommon when you get the 'ergies'. But I still have to get drops put in them, just so I won't have any problems with my ears. Well, I don't mean to sound contrary, but I think the problem I would have with my ears is that someone is putting drops in them. Doesn't that make sense to you?

The tall guy said to tell you that if your puppy is licking his paws, he might have the 'allergies' too. If he's licking his butt, well, that's another story all together! :)

0.015% Triamcinolone Acetonide
or
A Trip to The Vegetarian

It seems that us Labradorables have a tendency to get 'ERGEES'. Of course, me being the amazing puppy that I am, I get all of them. I think that's why they call them "ALLERGIES". The vegetarian said it was because of all the stuff I sniff up my nose. She said it goes in my nose and out my toes (which is better than coming out the other end, I guess!). So now I have to do this:

Pills in my mouth, drops in my ears, and spray on my toes!

I had the "allergies" last year,
so I was hoping that I was immune,
but the vegetarian said she also gets them,
so I guess that she's a Labradorable too!

PS - The tall guy said I did much better at the vegetarian's office this time.
I was so good they could even hear my heart through the garden hose!

PPS - The tall guy said to tell you that I do NOT get ALL the allergies.
I just have the one that makes your feet itch.

Was I not supposed to do that?

(From the TG: Jack was mad because I had to go to an appointment during the time he normally gets his second morning walk. This is what I found when I came back home. He hadn't done this in quite a while, until now.)

What 103 degrees looks like!

The tall guy said it was funny
because lot of peoples were talking about how
HOT it is on their blogs.

Did you guess what this was?
That's right!!
It's a cell phone tower.
(Well it's a SOON-to-be cell phone tower.)

You can see more examples of hidden cell phone towers

Sticks!

I think someone should write a country song about sticks.

The tall guy says I get more comments when I don't write as much as I did yesterday.
So here you go! :)

Shower Head Puppy!

This is what your head will look like if you
stick it in the shower when your peoples are in there!

So, back to our story...
We have breaking glass,
beeping smokey alarms,
vacuum cleaners,
and thunder!

When the smokey alarm went off,
both the tall guy and I woke up and looked at each other.
I didn't know what it was, as I hadn't heard one before.
The tall guy said "Oh well" and then he got up,
so I had to get up and see what he was going to do.
(What he was going to do was
take down the alarm and go back to bed,
because he did not have no 9 volt batteries!)

The tall guy was amazed at how I reacted.
I didn't think it was a big deal.
Evidently, I am the first puppy the tall guy
has ever had who doesn't get bothered by loud noises.
All of his other puppies
(and that is a story that I have to talk to him about)
did NOT like it when the smokey alarms when off.

I'm also the first puppy he has had
who is not afraid of the vacuum cleaner
or the fire engines when they go by at the park.
The tall guy says I have very good hearing,
because I can hear bread being toasted
at 300 yards, but evidently I just got used to
being around noise and since the tall guy
doesn't think it's a big deal,
I guess I just decided it wasn't a big deal either!

As a matter of fact,
I like it when he is using the vacuum cleaner
and I follow him and point out the spots that
he might have missed.

I love watching the fire engines.
(There is a fire station at the big park where we go every day.)
Maybe one day I will get to go ride on one!

So there's the story.
Now we would like to hear how YOU react
when you hear a loud noise.
Or when you get drunk.
Either one will be fine.

(Note from the TG: Jack is right. He is very unusual in that loud noises don't seem to affect him very much. He definitely does not have problems hearing loud noises or soft voices (or food - yes, Jack hears food) but he's the first dog I had that just doesn't seem to be bothered by them. I read about some of the dogs who are very nervous during thunderstorms, but Jack just doesn't want to go out in the rain. The thunder doesn't scare him. He seems to think that the vacuum cleaner is a giant toy and he LOVES watching the fire engines and ambulances when they leave the station house at the park. I don't know what he thinks they are, but he is definitely fascinated by them.

And yes, all I said when I broke the shower doors was 'Oh well'. I was wanting to get rid of them anyway and since I didn't get cut, it was all good. On the other hand, you do NOT want to break glass in your garage as then you have to VERY VERY carefully move the cars, sweep up the glass, sweep up the glass you dropped when you were trying to put it into the trash can, sweep up the glass that you thought you had gotten the first time, move out all the stuff in the garage, sweep up the glass that was hiding behind all the stuff that you have in the garage, sweep up the glass outside the garage that fell off all the stuff that you moved out of the garage, ad infinitum... until you think it's safe to bring your cars back into the garage, because all it takes is ONE tiny piece of glass to ruin a $250.00 tire and then you might say more than 'Oh well'.
As to WHY the shower doors exploded, I have no idea. I had just picked them up and was about to sit them on the ground, so they didn't come in contact anything except my hands.)

August 11, 2010

I did not do it!

And I was not even scared!!

Do you know what this is (er......WAS?)

That's right.
It WAS two glass shower doors.
But now it is not.

Oh don't worry. You know there is a story behind this.
It seems that the tall guy put these shower doors
in the garage when he had tile put in the shower.
Now he has a curtain,
(which is much easier for me to stick my
head in when he's in there so I can say hello).

So, the other night,
the smoke alarm in the bedroom went off.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!
(Like at 2AM)
Fortunately, it was just a bad battery.
The tall guy had to go get the really, really
tall ladder, because the ceiling in his bedroom
is way too high, even for him.
The shower doors were in front of the ladder.
He moved them and then changed the smoke alarm
so that it didn't
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!
while we were trying to sleep.

Well, the next day he went to put the ladder back,
and when he tried (note the verb there)
to put the shower doors back where they had been,
BOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!
(Not to be confused with
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP!!)
they exploded into like 80 bagazillion pieces.
I was in the house, so I only heard the glass break.
Fortunately, shower glass breaks into little bitty
pieces that is pretty non-cutty,
so he did not even get a scratch or cut.
I heard him say
'Oh well'
and then he had to spend like 6 years
cleaning up all the glass.

Well, what did all of that have to do with me?
You'll have to come back tomorrow to find out! :)

August 10, 2010

This is my serious face.

No, seriously!

This is it.

I finally had to have a 'talk' with another dog yesterday. I was playing and he kept running up and biting me on the face. And then he wouldn't let go! I think he thought he was being funny, but it hurt. The tall guy sent me to another part of the park but the other dog came running over there and grabbed me by my cheek again. Well, I turned around and told him that I liked that part of my face very much thank you and he needed to leave it alone!

Please note that I did not BITE him or even nip at him. He was a lot smaller than me. I just did the growl-y thing and showed him that I have a lot of teeth too and that if he did not stop biting my face, I would not play with him any more.
I may have even said a bad word, but since I don't know any bad words, I'm not sure.

So, to all you dogs out there, do not be eating anyone's face. It does not feel good. Otherwise, you can go play with yourself!

Now everyone watch this:

Monday Funday!!

It has come to my attention that some of you are sitting at home being bored. First of all, if that is the case, get a puppy. Then you will not be bored no more. Second, to relieve your boredom, here is something for you to do!

Just click on the arrow and try to solve the puzzle!

Here's an easy one:

Click to Mix and Solve

This one is a little bit harder:
Click to Mix and Solve

Did you realize that it is ME in the puzzle? You did! Well, you are just too cool for school! I am chewing on my rope toy from the Targets. For some reason, I can not find the rope toy anymore. That seems to happen a lot after I accidentally look inside of them.

Here's hoping that everyday is FUNDAY for you!

August 8, 2010

OK, this has to stop!

I just found out that the tall guy went to something called a DELI and got lots of good things to eat, like knishes, and rugalaches, and blintzes and what did I get? NOTHING! Maybe a carrot when he finally decided to come home. So, I'm putting my paw down. From now on, when he goes to the DELI (which by the way, I'm pretty sure is short for DELIcious), he has to bring me something good back home. And none of this leftover stuff either - I want something made just for me off the menu. Maybe an egg cream and a bagel* with a schmear! That would be good.

*Not to be confused with this:

August 7, 2010

Oh the things you will see...

The tall guy went outside yesterday and
was taking a lot of pictures
AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN PICTURES OF ME!!

So I went out and asked him what he was doing,
and he said he was taking pictures of the sunset.

Well, it was raining, so I don't have any idea
what he was talking about.
But this is what it looked like:

At least I think that is what it looked like. Some people think that puppies can't see different colors and some people say that puppies CAN see different colors. I can only see what I can see, so I don't know any difference. He said it was yellow, just like me.
So I just came back into the house and watched 'Ace of Cakes'. They make a lot of cakes on that show. I can ALWAYS see food. :)

(Speaking of color, here's something for you to try, especially if you like Disney stuff:

August 6, 2010

Well, what do we have here?

Who needs scissors?
(Well I guess I do
if I want to get in here without
destroying whatever it is inside!)

Hey, tall guy.
What does this say?
(Don't let Madi see it!)

Brown is a my favorite color,
especially when it has something wrapped in it.

Oh look!
It's a new necklace!
(Tee-hee!)

No, not really.
I know what to do with it!

And there's even a toothbrush that you can eat.
(How did you know that the vegetarian
said I should brush my teeths every day?)

And the tall guy said I was silly talking about my birthday so early! :)

Thank you Madi and Mom for my presents!
You are super-cool!

Hey, look at what this
crazy puppy is doing!

Hi, my name is Jack
and I'm a plast-aholic.

I can't help myself.
I just love chewing on anything plastic,
especially bottles.

I don't EAT it.
I'm not THAT crazy!

The way I look at it:
It's not the leather couch!

or THIS!

Surprises!
Surprises!
Surprises!

Did you ever notice how big Jim Nabors' head is? :)

The tall guy said there used to be a show on the teevees and the main guy used to say "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" all the time. I asked him if that was all he said, because that would get pretty annoying really fast and he said No, that the guy said other things and I said, well that's good.

What does that have to do with today?
Just look!

When we got home the other day, there was a huge box waiting for us next to the door. I was so excited, I didn't even try to eat the paper this time, because I could tell there was something AMAZING in the box. (But to be honest, I did try to eat the box.)

Look at all of this stuff. I felt like I had won The Price Is Right, with Bob BARK-er :)

COOL FAZOOL! It's a new WUBBA. For some reason, all my Wubbas seem to develop holes in them rather quickly, so I don't get to play with them very much.

But wait, why is the Wubba sitting on the floor all by itself? Could it be???

YES! Food, glorious food. And not just one kind, thousands of different kinds of foods (well 3 different kinds).

MMMMMM, smell that aroma. (The tall guy gets this look on his face when he walks through the coffee grinders aisle at the grocery store, even though he doesn't drink coffee!)

You knew there had to be a catch didn't you. So now we have to practice our 'WAIT'. I think I did pretty good. One second is a long time to wait!

And who was being so nice and sent us all these goodies (there was a lot more stuff, but the pictures didn't come out very well). Did you guess Ms. ~K and Sassy, Zack and Buddy (and possibly Hubby)? Well, you are a very good guesser then. So, the tall guy and I would like to take this opportunity to say "A million thanks you's" to our friends from back East. You are sweeter than Old Fashion Peach Butter!! :)

August 2, 2010

And I didn't even get no oatmeal either!

I am telling you - the tall guy goes to this place where they make oatmeals and he gets it for breakfast and they put stuff like bananas and blackberries and blueberries in it, and not only did I not get any bananas or blackberries or blueberries, but I didn't even get no oatmeal either!

Does Your Butt Have A Mind
Of Its Own?
or
Does Your Tail Tell A Tale?
(Wow, that was good!)

I don't know what it is with my tail.
It just seems to do whatever it wants to do.
Sometimes it's straight, sometimes it's curly.

Sometimes it seems to think I'm a pig,
and just decides to corkscrew.

And to top it off,
after I woke up this morning,
for some odd reason,
my tail just started wagging
and inadvertently hit the tall guy
in the face a few dozen times.
Needless to say,
some people are grumpy when
they first wake up.

It's time to play
WHAT'S YOUR GUESS?

The fabulous new game show* in which you
try to guess what I'm looking at.

So here we go.

Looking, looking, looking.
What am I looking at?
(Only one answer per household please.)

Did you guess clouds?

Well that would be silly, since I'm looking down!

Time's up!
Thanks for playing!

If only you had guessed
BALL!

Yes, I'm waiting for the tall guy
to throw the ball already!!

And I'm off!

Oops, ran a little too far that time!

I'm getting much better about bringing the ball back
to the tall guy so he can throw it again.

Unless there is shade nearby.

Then I am very good at CHEWING the ball!

Have a good weekend!

*Game show void for any contestant with a vowel in their name.
Only those 115 or older may participate.
Kids, get your parent's permission before you play!
Value of all prizes will be less than 1/20¢.
What? There weren't any prizes?
Well, then EVERYONE'S A WINNER!!

July 29, 2010

And now, a message for those going hiking!

SNAKES!!!
(not on a plane,
on the ground)

Always be on the lookout for snakes when you are outside.
Even at the grocery store or when you are getting ice cream!

Did I ever tell you about my version training?
Well, if I did, I'm gonna tell you again.

Evidently if you live in the West,
you should do something called
'RADDLESNAKE VERSION TRAINING'.

So one morning, the tall guy and I got in the car,
and went to this ladies house.
Evidently she has raddlesnakes.
I think she would be better off with kittens,
but who am I to judge?

Anyway, when you do the raddlesnake version,
you have to look at a raddlesnake in a cage.
And then he starts shaking his butt.
And when he started shaking his butt,
he looks you in the eye
and he ZAPS!!! you with his super-scary
RADDLESNAKE power!
I'm telling you, it felt like I had stuck my tongue
in an electrical outlet.
I was NOT a happy camper,
but I learned that when you hear
a raddlesnake's butt,
you should stay as far away from it as possible.
Evidently, it can control you with its mind
and then you will end up in big trouble!

So, be careful out there, ok?

(And if you don't believe me,
look at Ms. ~K's blog post here:
http://kit-dogdaze.blogspot.com/2010/07/mondays-memory-mosaic-snake-bite.html)
