Tall Guy Has Ability To
Manipulate Time!!
Dateline: USA
In what has turned out to be a startling turn of events, I've discovered that the Tall Guy has developed the ability to alter the course of time. The discovery of the 'Justaminute' phenomenon allows him to keep doing whatever he wants to do while I have to sit around waiting for him. Evidently, this 'Justaminute' ability allows him to stretch the concept of 'a minute' into any length of time that he wants. For example, we were supposed to go on a walk this morning, but he got on the computer and was reading something about someone who did something somewhere. When I reminded him that I was ready to go on my walk, he zapped me with his 'Justaminute', which signaled to me that I might as well sit down and plan on being here for a while. Unfortunately, the 'Justaminute' situation can last anywhere from an actual minute to 23 years, so I can't just leave and come back and see if he's ready. So, there you have it. Hopefully, the 'Justaminute-itis' has not spread to your house yet!!
Oh but Jack,
ReplyDeleteYou can do the same thing to the TG. When he calls you, just arf~~Just a minute!!! and keep doing what you are doing. You have to train him!!! Good luck

Lady sez: yea, my Dad does the same thing to me when I'm ready to go for my walk. But because there are so many stairs, I just sit on the landing closest to the door and cry my little "whoa is me" until he shows up. I'm a little too old to be running up and down all them stairs. Does yer TG Dad forget his keys, or poop bags or sunglasses or underwear or god knows what else and leaves you hanging. Sheesh, I hate that.
ReplyDeleteI thought my mom invented "justaminute." The itis must be spreading fast!
ReplyDeletePatient woofs?

Jack, I think you need to change your name to Job. Sounds like you need the patience of your new namesake!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it- we use that term a lot!!!!!

We say 'notyet' a lot when Inca takes up her 'pestering dad for a walk' position. She usually breaks him down!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKathy and Inca
You can do it too . Perfect that canine 'I'll be right with you' look.
ReplyDeleteJack bless your heart you certainly do have to put up with a lot!! What I get here in my house when I meow continuously is "Madi give me a break"!! If Mom keeps being so slow I might have to break something...
ReplyDeleteOh and....Justaminute I'll be back shortly to say more.
TG you have a very creative mine.
Madi and Mom
I'm sure there's a pill for that...
ReplyDeleteJack,
ReplyDeleteThe phenomenon known as Justaminute seems to be spreading like wildfire and had made it to NY, only here at my house it is called "Waitaminutewillya" :)

ReplyDeleteThose humans really have a hard time telling time way we do. We think we should go to Canine Standard Time - NOW
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo! It's at our house, too! Is it terminal? Is there any cure? I thought maybe it was something they would get over after awhiles but the prognosis doesn't sound good. Not good at all.

Hi Jack, we are reading your post, I am behind my Mommy's neck like something she calls a neck roll and my sister is just to my left on the top of the couch. We totally understand the justaminute thing, but we just whine, wag our tails and make the please Mommy face. Come visit us sometime over at the blog thing. CiCi and GinGin

Around here we call it a MommyMinute :) It does not reflect ACTUAL time--think of it more in the metaphysical sense...
ReplyDeleteYep... it also occurs here at the moose lodge with some frequency. Along with NoItsTooEarly which indicates the potential for an even longer holding pattern!
