That's just not right!

I have not got to go do the swimmings in like 50 years.  Well, except for the little round pool at my house, but that doesn't count because my feet touch the bottom.

The tall guy has started going to do the swimmings every day!  He is going to some place called a Jim.  I don't even know who this Jim is.  But, the tall guys says that dogs are not allowed there.  Well, that Jim must not be a very nice person if he doesn't like dogs.

So, if you are going to do the swimmings with your family, would you please stop by and let me go with you?  I will bring some carrots and some cookies for us to eat after we do the swimmings.  And I have my own towel.

Thank you, and have a pleasantly wet day!

  2. That Jim person doesn't sound nice at all. I bet he goes nice and early too when the water would be cool. Bummer man. You can come swimming with me, but I just have a kiddie pool too.

  3. Jim doesn't sound fun! Mom and Dad are going to a Why and we can't figure out why! We aren't allowed either - maybe we can come play?

  11. Jack, I don't much like water so swimming is kind of out for me. My Sister has a thing for that Jim also and I don't like it, she goes to see him every day and I bet her boyfriend doesn't even know about it. Its kind of weird that this Jim is so popular.

  12. I wish TG would take better care of you. How can he expect you to be a well balanced dog without a daily swim in a big pond or lake?

PeeS: I can't thank you enough for saying "50 years" instead of 87..... that number should be banned from dog blogs.

  14. OMD Jack....my Daddy goes to that Jim's house too!!! Almost every afternoon after his work he goes!

Mama says if you live a state or 2 closer she would pick you up on Wednesdays to go to the lake with us. Something about how nice it would be to have a dog who liked to go swimming (saying we don't like water is an understatement!).

  15. OH noes Jack your sweet self has been abandoned by your TG just so he can go to a water hole! Just not right!! I think you should begin a search and rescue for all the cookies in the house while he is gone. If that means a little mess well so be it!!

FYI: I'm a cat I do not do water.

  18. Jack, you need to come get my two Labs and teach them that they are supposed to LIKE swimming. Neither one will have anything to do with the little pool in the backyard other than to drink out of it. Our vet just opened a swimming pool for dogs that I think I'm going to take Onyx (5 months old) to check out. Maybe if she sees other dogs swimming she'll try it.

  20. Would you swim if given the opportunity, Jack? Cabana won't. She will wade, but she won't swim. I'm just wondering if she's the only phony labrador out there, or if you're a phony, too. Tell TG to take you to the Jim to find out!

  21. Unfair, I say!!!

Maybe you could find a new dog park with a pool and a shuttle service!

    Nancy

  22. Well, Cabana has a valid point. If you would actually swim, we'd be happy to help you lobby the TG until he builds you your very own pool in your very own backyard. But it sure would damage the campaign if the pool were built and it turned out you wouldn't actually go in it. To get started, go to You Tube and get all those videos about dogs with their own pools and water slides and stuff playing on a continuous loop so the TG can't even look at his computer without seeing a dog enjoying a nice slide and swim. That should start to soften him up a bit.
