Taking a nap on the veranda
Even though it is eleventy-billion degrees later in the day,
it's still cool enough in the morning to be able
to take a nap outside.
We usually go out for our walk
and then I come back,
drink lots of water,
and then go outside for my
pre-pre-pre-nap.
(That's the nap I take before the nap I take
before the nap I finally end up taking in the house.)
Also,
I do not know what is a 'veranda',
but I think it's a very nice word.
Oh, yeah!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very nice word!
And all those pre-pre-pre-naps sure are good!
Take care

Hey Jack! We're nap-napping right now. Our veranda smells like dog pee.

It does sound like a nice place to be Jack. I would like to be on the veranda snuggling with you right now.

Eleventy billion degrees is that in the shade or the sun?
ReplyDeleteVeranda: a place where genteel Southerns sit will sipping their mint juleps. TG was trying to share some of his Southern roots with you.

Sweet pic! It's been raining all week here, stay cool!!
ReplyDeleteI believe Webster's Dogtionary definition of "veranda" is: Noun: warm, sunny place of total dog relaxation. Humans required to bring cool water, tasty treats and tummy rubs on demand when canine companion chooses to rest there.
ReplyDeleteThis is very similar to our day today. Our pawrents are busy so we are just napping.

Dear Jack,
ReplyDeleteI like Chester from Winnipeg's definition of "veranda" - it sounds like the ideal place for a super-pup like you to while away the morning (or until the thermometer hits eleventy-billion degrees)!
Hope you and the Tall Guy are keeping cool in the brutally hot weather!
Your friend,
Nancy
You must be an expert napper huh Jack??

With this heat, napping is about all we have left...

Cute post dear Jack:)
ReplyDeleteJack - do you ever like to sun yourself when it is eleventy billion degrees outside? Blueberry does sometimes because I think the heat has caused her some brain damage and she doesn't realize she is not actually sunning herself, but that the sun is actually cooking her like a Thanksgiving Day turkey!
