What i did on my birthday.
by Jack

I was all excited because I knew I was getting something special.

The tall guy always hides his hands behind his back when he's trying to hide something from me.

First he gave me a oatmeal box.
I was hoping that it would contain jewelry or an Apple watch,
but it was just a box.
But that's ok, because I got to tear it apart,
which is really fun.

Then he gave me my actual presents.  Please ignore the fact that they were wrapped in Christmas paper, because evidently I'm not good enough to get actual birthday paper and we have to just go with whatever the tall guy can find in the closet.
I'm lucky it wasn't wrapped in toilet paper.

FINALLY, I got to play with my new toys
(which I have not even destroyed yet!)

I got an elephants made out of rope
and another toy that I can pull apart
but it can be put back together.
(Please don't tell Madi, but I think it's supposed to be a cat.
We'll just pretend that it's a Frisbee with legs and a tail instead.)
The talll guy really likes the Frisbee leg-tail toy,
because when I pull it apart,
he can put it back together again.
He said it's stuck together with something called
VELCRO.
I do not know what is VELCRO,
but evidently it's what keeps your legs and tail attached to your body.

So, all in all, I had a pretty good birthday.
And here's hoping your VELCRO doesn't come loose
and cause you to lose your tail!

Today is My BIRTHDAY!!

A beautific card that I got from Nancy!

Looking for my presents.

Evidently today is my 7th birthday.
I was born on August 23, 2008.
At least that's what the tall guy tells me.
I really don't remember being born.

The tall guy wasn't there when I was born,
but evidently he had me all picked out
even before I was here.

He also said I might get some
presents sometime today.
Maybe I'll get a new car
or that new 75" tv he's been looking at
from Best Buy.

Don't tell him,
but I think being with the Tall Guy
is the best present of all!

I'll be back later this week to show you
what presents I got.

See you soon.

August 20, 2015

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Somehow the world seems a little softer
when you're looking at it upside down.

Speaking of crazy,
the tall guy told me that I should be
expecting a surprise on Sunday.

I don't know what it is.

Knowing him, it's probably that he's gonna go to
Hardee's to get a biscuit and gravy and not give me any.

But I'll let you know!

OH NO!
We've been invaded by tiny elephants!

And footsballs!!

But mostly elephants.

Be on a lookout in your neighborhood.

Hide your peanuts!

Two Hot Dogs!

I have no idea why the tall guy got so excited when he saw this,
but he nearly wrecked the car!

Good thing it was in a parking lot or else we would have run off the road.

And yes, it was HOT on my feets.  And no, it didn't smell like hot dogs.
Well, I might have smelled a little, but you know what I mean.

THEN, he was singing something about BALONEY all the way home.
And now I'm hungry.  Go figure.

I can't see!

It's always good to start reading even before you can!

Evidently I make a great bedtime story.
Or wakin'-up-in-the-morning story.
Or midday snack.

Perchance to dream...

I'm telling you.  It's been really hot here lately.
Too hot to do much of anything.

Fortunately, the tall guy insists that
we have conditioned air.
I do not know what is the difference between
conditioned air and regular air,
but I know that it feels a lot better when we come
inside after our walks.

The tall guy finally got his car back from being
fixed at the car place.
I hope they didn't fix it the same way
I was fixed when I was  little!
BUT, I haven't gotten to ride in it yet,
as the tall guy says he'd like to have just a FEW days
of car without being covered in dog fuzz again.
And after all the other stuff, he decided to buy
new tires AND a new battery.
I hope he still has enough money left to buy
my treats!
I'm not so sure he needed to get a battery anyway.
He's got lots of batteries in the flashlights we have.
He could've used one of those.
Oh well.  I better not complain
or he'll make me go outside in the hot!

Stay cool!

It's SO hot!

How hot is it?

I don't know.

But I do know that it's not as hot as it was in Arizona.

Remember to drink lots of water.

And stay in the shade when you go on your walk.
Even if something does smell really good
on the other side of the road!

We haven't been to the park in a few days
because someone hit the tall guy when he was driving home
and he had to borrow a car from the car place
and they won't let me ride in it.
Something about all the fuzz that's coming off my butt
because it's so hot.

But it's ok,
we still gots lots of places to walk around here.

Stay cool!!

Don't forget about the Blogville Rodeo
coming up on July 9th!

Maybe there will be a prize for the fastest toy de-stuffer!

Or "The most happy smile after pulling out the fuzz from a brand new toy" trophy.

Or the "Most stuff left on the lawn for the tall guy to have to pick up before he can mow the grass" award.

Or a "Just bypass the store and give me a $10 bill to chew up instead" ribbon.

No?

How about a "Let's find out what is REALLY inside a pink unicorn" medal?

Come on.  I gotta win something!

Who turned off the air conditioning?

For some reason, it turned VERY hot here a few days ago.  It got so hot that I don't even want to go on a long walk.  I'd rather go on a short walk and find somewhere in the shade to sit and take in the smells.

So, whoever it was that turned off the coolness,
would you please turn it back on?  I will tell the tall guy to send you some money to help pay your electrisical bill!

PS:  Don't forget about the Blogville Rodeo.
You still have time to send your pictures to the tall guy for the trick riding.  You can get the 4-1-1 here:

I smell something exciting!
(which is much better than when the tall guy says I smell frightening.)

Blogville is having a RODEO!!

And look-ee there!!

The tall guy and I have been put in charge of the trick writing.

So if you can do any special kind of writing,
heck, even if you can write at all,
please send your ...
what?
Are you sure?

I've just been informed by the tall guy that it's not trick WRITING,
it's trick RIDING!

Oh, well that makes more sense then.

So if you think you'd like to do this:

or this:

or even this:

make sure you get your pictures to the tall guy
by July 2, 2015
so you can be part of the trick RIDING event
at the Blogville Rodeo!

The tall guy said you can send your pictures to
jacksdad2011@gmail.com
and please put
"TRICK RIDING" as the subject of the email.

PS.  Maybe we can do the trick writing at the NEXT rodeo!!

May 30, 2015

I just wanted to help!

The plumb-er came to fix the drippy sink.  I think it has been drippy for like 3 months now, but for some reason the tall guy decided he needed to get it fixed TODAY!  So, he called the plumb-er.  I don't know why he didn't call the drip-er, but anyway.

I was all excited because I thought I was going to get to help and look what happened.  I got stuck outside.  For like 201 hours while the plumb-er was fixing the drip.  Actually it was like 10 minutes, but I COULD'VE been stuck outside if the plumb-er had taken a long time.
I was going to hand him all the renches and screwdrivers and stuff, but no.  I was being a new-sense, so I had to go outside.  I could've come back inside through my dog window, but I know that when the tall guy gives me that LOOK, that it was better for me to stay outside for a while.

So now we have no drippy faucets, which is good so that we won't waste water.  Now if we can just get someone to come clean out all the leafs from the gutters, the tall guy will be happy!

He said he'd be back in a minute, and look...

HE GOT DONUTS!!!

May 17, 2015

I think we've played enough now!

I told the tall guy that he probably should change the name of my blog to

"Not so Daily Dose of Jack", because he has gotten very bad about telling you about my adventures on here.  I remember when he used to write whole BOOKS
just about me.  But it's ok.  That just means that there is more time for us to go on walks and to play outside.  Especially now that the weather is so nice.
It hasn't even been really hot yet, except for a few days, so it means that we can stay outside more often.

We have had some loud thunderstorms, but those are usually at 3AM.  The tall guy LOVES getting up at 3AM and sitting with me until the storms go past.  He's pretty good about doing that and he doesn't even fuss.

Oh and another good thing is that I get to eat a new kind of foods.  The tall guy said that we both need to lose a few libbies.  I do not know what these LBS are, but evidently you aren't supposed to have too many of them.  So, the tall guy is eating more salats (BOO! - but sometimes he puts chicken on them - YAY Chicken!) and I'm eating food that is supposed to help me lose my weights.  So, if you find any weights when you are out walking, they might be mine, but that's ok, you can keep them.

I think all this got started when the tall guy went to his human vet and the vet was happy that he had lost 10 lbs (the tall guy - not the vet.  We don't know if the human vet lost any lbs).  But as long as I still get to eat 3 times a day, I guess I'll be ok.

Other than that, we are doing goods, even though the tall guy is sad that The Amazing Race is over for a while.  I am not allowed to talk during The Amazing Race.  I don't know why it's called Amazing as the people don't even have any dogs with them!  They should have to race around the world with their dog.  Now THAT would be AMAZING! :)

WHAT?

I didn't know you needed that bowl.
You should have said something!

Take me on a walk!

These trees are very beautifuls.

I'm sorry I eated your bowl.

Well, I really didn't eat it,
as much as deconstructed it.

Can we go back to the trees?
