Best Elk Antlers
a review
by Jack

The tall guy gets a LOT of emails asking him to review things for dogs.  Normally, we don't like to review things (because some things, like food, may be good for one dog but not another) or the things they are asking him to review are not anything that I would like (puppy pads?  Really?)

But when he got an email from the Best Elk Antler people, I begged him to please, please, please, mr. postman, let me try them.  I even told him that I would personally (doggonally) write the review.  So he said ok.

First of all, I want to tell you that they come in different sizes, so you need to make sure that you get the right size for your pet.

We got the big ones that were split.

That way you get 3 or 4 in each bag.  3 or 4 is good!

Here you see a picture of me as I was, as the tall guy says, "going to town".  I'm not sure what he meant, as we didn't go anywhere, but I think he meant to say that I really enjoyed chewing on the antler.

Here you can see what happens after about 20 minutes of chewing.  The tall guy was amazed because normally I can chew through anything in about 2 minutes!  The tall guy had to finally take it away from me as it was starting to get pointy :(

All in all, I really liked the antlers.  The tall guy said that if I can chew on it for 20 minutes, it would probably last for like 15 years for most dogs.

So I would like to thank the Best Elk Antler people for letting us try their antlers.  Although, I'm not sure it is actually people antlers.  But that might be interesting too!

PS.  Dear Best Elk Antler people, you can send me more antlers any time you like!  Oh, and the tall guy said, if you could send them in a BMW ActiveHybrid 7, that would be cool too!

Little me...

Big banana pudding...

Once again, the tall guy just took off and did not take me.  He said he had to get some banana pudding.  He was gone for like 3 years.  Well, maybe it just seemed like 3 years.

And I did not even get no banana pudding when he got home.

(Oh, he said something about meeting his sister, but I know it was just for the banana pudding.)

For all my dog friends back in Arizona

This is called "GREEN":

This is called "WATER":

This is called "ROLLING AROUND IN THE GRASS":

I have NO idea what this is. It's just something that fell out of a tree!

Your friend,

Jack

Don't you see it?

Look really close.

Now do you see it?

It's ok.  I didn't see it either.

The tall guy was washing off the lawn mower yesterday and he saw some pine needles sticking out of the place where he keeps the hose.  He opened it up and was getting ready to blast out the pine needles, when he saw it.

There's a BIRD'S NEST in there.  With 4 blue eggs.

WHEW!! That was close.

The mama bird wasn't in there, but we're pretty sure she was watching us, because he saw her in there this morning.

So, before you blast something with the hose, make sure you look and see if there is a bird around.

You'll be glad you did!

A walk in the woods...

A poem,
by Jack

We went a-walkin' in the woods,
all on a sunny day.
The leaves and trees and even birds,
watched us on our way.

The shade was cool,
the air was clean,
The path, it had been trod,
We walked, first slow
and then some fast,
upon the dampy sod.

Oh won't you come and walk with us,
as we go along our way.
When we get done,
we'll go to McDonald's,
and the tall guy will always pay!

===

PS.  I'm sorry that some of you could not see the video
on here the other day.
But trust me, it was really funny!

What does a guy have to do to get
some sleep around here?

While I TRY to take a nap, you can watch this video:

(If you can't see the video, you can watch it here:

Unlike the lady in the video,
I didn't think that was very funny.

Well, maybe SOMEONE just sweep

That's all I got to say about that.

WHAT???

You're going to sit there and eat some delicious foods and not give me any?

You do know how hard I work all day right?

Plus the fact that I hardly ever bother you when you're on the computer?

I always pick up my toys and put them back in the box when you ask me to!

And now you're going to not share whatever it is that you're eating that I probably love?

What?  It's chocolate ice cream?

I bet I would LOVE chocolate ice cream!!

Who said that dogs aren't supposed to eat chocolate?

Well NERTZ to them!!

Yes, it is beautiful.

Oh, you meant the water and the trees.  I thought you meant this spot on the ground where someone peed.

The water is pretty too, I guess.

I thought I'd talk to the fish and see if there was anywhere good nearby
 to get some sushi!

They didn't think it was very funny!

The beautious tree!

We have a most beautious tree in our new front yard.
It has all these wonderful flowers on it.
When the wind blows, it looks like it is snowing pink.

Unfortunately, the wind is also blowing off
all the flowers from the tree,
so pretty soon it will be nekkid.

And, as we all know,
some trees, like some people,
don't look their best
when they are nekkid!

I do not know how that happened!

I had nothing to do with it
and the fact that my footprint is there
is from where I came in to see what was going on.

I just wanted you to see what was someone else did!

Look at what we found!

No, not me!

We found these:

The tall guy said they were called Daffyducks (or something like that).  And we did not even plant them, they just showed up one morning.

The tall guy said we might get to plant some flowers next week if all the cold weather has gone away.  He said he doesn't feel like spending all the time planting stuff just to have it get all frozed over and die.

I told him I would help digging the hole.  He told me it would be a big help if I would just watch and let him take care of the planting.  Maybe he'll let me go to the store and help him pick out which plants we need.  I hope we get a DOG-wood. :)

Did I Fall Asleep?

Evidently I took a LOT of naps while we were waiting
for the the tall guy to recover from having a rock
in his kidney.

The good news is that he is feeling perfect now.
The bad news is that the vet told him that
they did not get all of the rock so he will
have to go through the same thing again
in a few months.
Oh well.

The weather has been really nice.
The tall guy even got out and mowed
all of our new grass,
which was actually more like grass dust
as it hasn't turned green yet.
I stayed inside and watched him
until he got finished. Then we got to play
frisbees for 6 hours because, for some reason,
it was still light until I had to go to bed.

So, that's what we've been up to here.
See you again soon!

Doctor Jack to the rescue!

In case you were wondering, the tall guy had to go to the vet on Thursday and they blew up part of the rock that is in his kidney.  He said he was asleep and it didn't even hurt...

UNTIL SATURDAY!!!

We did not have a good day on Saturday.  Seems that no matter what he would do, it would still hurt.  He sat in the bathtub a lot and then walked and walked outside and tried to lie down, but it was hurting really bad.  That's me in the picture, asking him if there was anything I could do for him, but he really didn't want much to do with me on Saturday.

Fortunately, the doctor had given him some pills that seemed to help and he finally went to sleep and slept almost 7000 hours in a row.  At least it seemed that long to me.  One of the tall guy's friends is here watching me and feeding me and taking me out for our walks, so I'm just waiting until the tall guy feels better.

Update:  He said he is feeling much better today, but he's still not 100%.  So, hopefully we'll be back soon!

Back on the trail

Well, it warmed up yesterday, so we decided to go for a walk back up on the mountain.  I say we, when in fact, I usually have very little say in such decisions.  It's more of a "Jack, I'm going to go riding in the car.  Do you want to go?" type of thing.  Sometimes we go get something to eat, so I usually decide that riding in the car with the possibility of getting something to eat is better than staying at home with NO possibility of getting anything to eat.  Especially if the refrigerator door is closed.  Which, unfortunately, it wasn't when we went riding.  When we got back home, we notice that the door had been left open the whole time.  Usually, that would have been a problem, but since there wasn't anything in there but Pepsi and water, I don't think it made much difference.

But it was a nice outing anyway!

The one where I am a snowman critic:

Sorry I have been gone so long.
Evidently the tall guy has something
called a
SINUS INFARCTION
and, boy does it make him crabby.

Fortunately, he says it doesn't bother
him much during the day,
so we can go out on our walks.
This picture was taken on one of our walks
last week when we still had snow.
We have no snow now.
We are snow-less.

The tall guy went to the
human veterinarian today
and got some stuff to
help him breathe better.
So hopefully, he won't
be up coughing all night
because of the drains.
I told him that if he was having
problems with his drains,
he should call a plumber,
but he did not think that was very funny.

I told you he was crabby!

I got the snow!!

Well, not a lot, but enough to play in.

And enough to make the tall guy tell me
not to run so fast
because I'm about to make him fall down
and break his neck.

(He wasn't really about to fall down and break his neck.
A leg or a hip, maybe, but not his neck.
I think you need at least 8 inches of snow
to qualify as neck breaking.)

We're supposed to get some more tomorrow.
We'll see.

Snow-bound Jack,
signing off for now!

We would walk 500 miles...

and we would walk 500 more!

We have been doing a lot of walks since we moved.
Evidently the tall guy likes to walk more when it's not hot.

However, I found out that he does not like to
walk when it is 10 little circles outside
and the wind is blowing.

Or if it's raining.

Or when he's trying to watch Downton Abbey.

Or when he's writing music.

Hmmm,
maybe we're not going on as many walks
as we could!

I'll have to get back to you.
