We found a puppy!!

(See update below)

The tall guy was sitting at the computer and I was looking out the window and all of a sudden.  WOOSH!

A little ball of fuzz went running by.

Well, I told the tall guy and he got up and looked and what do you know.  There was a puppy running around outside.  Well, we didn't want it to get in the road, so I told the tall guy he should go get it and see if he could figure out where it lived.

He went and got it, but it didn't have a collar or a tag.  And, being Sunday, all the vets were closed so we couldn't even see if it had a chip.  No, not potato.  I mean one of those things where the vet can tell you where you live if you get lost.

So, to make a long story short, the tall guy took the puppy and walked around the neighborhood and lo-and-behold!  (You just knew this was going to be a lo-and-behold type of story), he went to one house and they said that the puppy belonged to their neighbors who weren't at home right then.  So they took the puppy and said they would make sure he got home when his peoples came back.

So, if you ever get lost, come to our house and the tall guy will make sure you get back home!

UPDATE:  The neighbors came over and brought some cookies to say "Thank you" for bringing home their puppy.  But did I get any?  NO!  Something about chocolate chip cookies not being good for me.  I demand a recount!

UPDATE AFTER THE TALL GUY READ MY PREVIOUS UPDATE:  I did get one half of one of my regular cookies for letting the tall guy know that someone was at the door.  He didn't even hear the doorbell ring because he had his music earmuffs on.  So I guess everybody wins!!

  3. Dear Jack,

What a nice thing for the Tall Guy to do! I'm very glad the puppy found his way back home, but on the other hand (or paw), I was kind of hoping you would have a new playmate living at your house. Either way, this is a great Easter story!

  4. I've instructed Monty, because out of the two boys, he is least likely to ask anyone for directions back home!

However, should I, Madi, come to your house I would appreciate it if you would let me stay over night 'cause should I get all the way to your house my paws will need a rest.

  9. YAY, Jack - so glad you got a cookie out of the deal, even if it WAS only 1/2 of one! Now you have to think of something clever to do so you can get the rest of it :-)
