It's time for
The ANNUAL PUTTING UP
OF
THE CHRISTMAS TREE!

The tall guy said I could help him put up the Christmas tree this year. I am so excited.

Here I am making checking out one of the ornaments to go onto the tree to make sure that it does not contain any non-Christmas-sy smells. The tall guy wouldn't let me put any of the ornaments ON the actual tree itself, but he said I was being a big help!

Here I am guarding the Christmas tree to make sure that no unauthorized ornaments are place upon the tree. The tall guy said that I wasn't in the way very much when I did this, but that I was still helping!

Here I am making sure that all the ornaments are being placed in exactly the right position on the tree. Since the tall guy is so tall, I had to constantly remind him that he needed to put some down toward the bottom of the tree so that I could see them too. He said that my never-ending CONSTANT REMINDERS were a really big help and didn't cause him to get 'aspirated' even one time! As a matter of fact, I was being so helpful when he was trying to put the stuff on the tree, he decided I could be more helpful a little farther away, so I could use my trained eye to better see where the ornaments should go.

So here I am helping from farther away. The tall guy said it would give me more perspective, but to remember that he could not have done it without me in the way... er.... without my help and that I really really helped and that he would have to remember how much I helped when he was taking DOWN the tree and that maybe he would wait until I was taking a nap or something so that I would be rested when he needed my help then!

You may have noticed that I am behind the fence. The tall guy said that being behind the fence would give me a better reference point from which to judge the aesthetics of the tree and would be a REALLY BIG HELP!!

  4. Somehow, we seem to be the most help when we go outside and play. Not sure it works, but the humans do seem to get their tasks done faster - if you could tasks something that does not involve us.

  7. Jack,
I, Madi, am 8 you are 2...I have much more experience with snoopervising and the appreciation of said snoopervising. I'm here to tell you TG is pulling all four of your legs and possibly both ears. When it comes time to take the tree down, H I D E or you could be sequestered in a place you don't want to be......
    To quote Buddy,
    I'm just sayin'

  11. If you practice taking down the tree when no one is looking, then you can help put it up again. You can have a new tradition of "12 days of putting up and taking down the Christmas tree".

  12. This post reminds me of the old "Shake n' Bake" commercial, where the little girl says,
"And I helped".... so much helping going on here!

  13. Jack, you are most definitely in the Christmas spirit (now matter where you are in relation to that tree). Good thing you are keeping an eye on where those pretty balls are being located.

  17. Jack-
You are normally a pretty smart guy. But this time I think the Tall Guy pulled one over on you - no need to be behind a fence for perspective. You can get that by snatching a ball off the tree and running down the hallway.
    That's how I roll.

  18. George never gets to help put up the tree. I'm not going to show him this post and how helpful you are.

  19. Tall Guy is wearing shorts....not fair! It's December, people! On a side note, Jack, I think you should have gotten to put the star on top of the tree. Tall Guy should get to do only so much. Spread the joy. :)
